Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)
Surlon offers MetaPET® a high performing material amongst General Engineering Plastic Products catering to medium temperature range, MetaPET® stock shapes are made of crystalline thermoplastic polyester, are marketed under the trade names MetaPET® (virgin grade) and MetaPET® XL (PET + Solid Lubricant grade).
Main Characteristics
– High mechanical strength, stiffness and hardness
– Very good creep resistance
– Very low moisture absorption
– Higher temp working range (better than polyacetal and nylons
– Low and constant coefficient of friction
– Excellent wear resistance (comparable with or even better than nylon grades)
– Very good dimensional stability (better than polyacetal)
– Excellent stain resistance
– Suitable for direct contact with food
– Suitable for machining of complex precision parts
MetaPET® (PET), Natural (white) & Black
MetaPET® is available in Rod and sheet form, these are manufactured using high quality virgin crystalline PET and complies with FDA requirements. The part made from this grade are suitable for direct contact with food and is an ideal material for machining of precision parts, requiring high wear and load bearing capabilities.

Applications
