Metron XL30PEEK

Black

Metron XL30 is a high-performance thermoplastic material that is 30% reinforced with carbon fiber, graphite, and PTFE. It is a semi-crystalline material available for injection molding components and extrude rods and plates in black color. Ideal material for tribological applications that require high strength, excellent wear resistance, and a very low coefficient of friction. Additionally, it has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and is chemically resistant to aggressive environments. The carbon fiber reinforcement provides enhanced mechanical properties, while the graphite and PTFE additives improve tribological properties, making it suitable for applications that require high performance and durability.

Main Characteristics

High temperature performance – Suitable for continuous-use temperatures up to 260°C (500°F). Glass transition temperatures up to 170°C (338°F)

High wear resistance – Low coefficient of friction. High abrasion and cut-through resistance.

Mechanical strength and dimensional stability – High strength and stiffness in demanding conditions. Excellent long-term creep and fatigue properties.

Resistance to harsh chemicals – Withstands a wide range of acids and bases and shows excellent performance in hydrocarbons and organic solvents. Excellent hydrolysis resistance

High electrical integrity – Consistent properties across a range of frequencies and temperatures. Insulating, conducting and static dissipative materials.

High purity & bio inert – Resistance to gamma and electron beam radiation as well as transparent to X-rays.

Exceptional Flammability performance- resisting combustion up to 600°C. Even when ignited at extremely high temperatures, it self-extinguishes and produces minimal smoke.
